European court
A 220-apartment residential complex in Chernihiv, Ukraine — built on a scale that combines the convenience of large-development infrastructure with the coherence of a single architectural project.
European Court is a ten-story residential complex of 220 apartments located in one of the most developed districts of Chernihiv, Ukraine. The total construction area is 9,841 m² with a building volume of 40,972 m³ — a scale that places the project among the larger residential developments in the city, while remaining a single coherent complex rather than a fragmented multi-block estate. The location was chosen for its connectivity: schools, kindergartens, shops, and public transit are all within walking distance, integrating the complex directly into the everyday infrastructure of the district. The site itself is designed around resident use rather than around the building footprint — surface space is allocated to playgrounds, leisure zones, walking paths, and ample parking, creating a contained living environment that extends beyond the apartment walls.

The complex is built using high-quality silicate brick — a construction material chosen for long-term structural durability, sound insulation between apartments, and stable thermal performance across seasons. Facades are finished with a thermal insulation system combining extruded polystyrene foam and mineral wool, delivering the kind of envelope performance that translates directly into lower utility costs for residents over the lifetime of the building. Each apartment features dual-sided window openings, bringing natural light into the interior throughout the day, and is paired with a glass-enclosed panoramic balcony that extends the living space toward the surrounding views. Heating is individually controlled in every unit, giving residents direct control over their indoor climate and energy consumption — a structural decision that respects how people actually live, rather than imposing a single setting on the entire building.
